Hassib Abou Assaly, the Founder of Abou Assaly Law Practice, was a passionate and proactive role model and visionary.
After graduating from Saint Joseph University, he started his career in 1961 as an internship lawyer with Attorney-at-Law Mr. Reda Tamer, a former member of Parliament, and he gained wide expertise at one of the most reputable law firms in Lebanon.
He was then enrolled in the Beirut Bar Association and was enlisted in the General Schedule in 1964. Then, he established a law firm in Banks Street in Beirut in partnership with the late lawyer Attorney-at-Law Chafic Mortada, a former member of the Lebanese Parliament.
In 1971, he founded his own law firm in Sami El Solh Street, in Badaro.
Mr. Abou Assaly emphasized the importance of being active not only within the Beirut Bar Association but also on a bigger social scale, devoting his time to public affairs. He founded and chaired the rights of Small Property Owners Association. He also established the General Orthodox Organization in Lebanon. Mr. Abou Assaly authored many articles and organized legal seminars focusing on defending the rights of the Small Property Owners as well as the sovereignty and independence of the country.
Facing the challenges that struck the country in 1989 -1990, Mr. Abou Assaly wrote the bylaws and co-lead the “Al Jabha Al Arida Organization,” bringing together a group of lawyers to defend the legitimacy of the decrees taken by the transitional government.
After over twenty years of leading his law firm, Mr. Hassib Abou Assaly passed away in 1992, leaving behind a legacy of the highest commitment to law. His children Attorney-at-Law Mrs. Carole Abou Assaly and Attorney-at-Law Mr. Elie Abou Assali continue to pursue excellence, inspired by their father’s immense dedication.
